OP. DR. MAHMUT AKYILDIZ
Born on 02/02/1964 in Çataldere, Rize. He completed primary school in Çataldere.
He completed his secondary education at Kabataş Boys’ High School in Istanbul through the state boarding school exam. In 1987, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. After completing his compulsory service at Çankırı Kurşunlu Health Center, he fulfilled his military duty as a camp doctor at Tuzla Infantry School.
In 1990, he started working as a Cardiovascular Surgery Assistant at Siyami Ersek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Hospital under the team of former Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Besim Yiğiter. After working 5 years as an assistant and 3 years as a chief assistant, they established the Cardiovascular Surgery Department of Private Swiss Hospital under the directorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Besim Yiğiter. During his time at this hospital, he also worked as an observer physician at Cleveland Clinic and Texas Heart Institute.
He has been working in the private sector for 15 years and is currently working at MEDISTATE KAVACIK HOSPITAL. To date, he has participated in approximately 13,000 surgeries and has personally performed more than 10,000 of them.
In February 2001, he married Cardiologist Dr. Şenay Bank. He is the father of one daughter and one son.
Human psychology and behavioral sciences are among his special areas of interest.
His hobbies include playing tennis, skiing, swimming, and reading books.
